Coffee anyone - 'Coffee & Milk' playdough.

Our colour this week is brown - yeah I know!  I bet you can imagine what sort of "that's looks like..." comments we get from the children.
We're doing a lot about chocolate but we decided that for the playdough this week we would make coffee playdough instead of chocolate (which we had, they love, but we're all for new things!)

We also realised how much the children love making drinks in the sand, water or combined playdough and kitchen area.  So it was perfect.

We made some 'milkdough' to go alongside however due to allergies we used Horlicks instead (which had a lovely malty smell but none of the side effects that dried milk would have had.

We made it today and of course it quickly got mixed in with the 'milkdough' we made but it was jolly fun, recipe below...

'Coffee' dough (no cook):

* 2 cups of plain flour
* 1/2 cup salt.
* 2 tablespoons of cream of tartar.
* 2 tablespoons of veggie oil.
* 1 1/2 cups of boiled water (mixed with about 4 teaspoons of granulated coffee, more for extra flavour or smell).

'Milk' dough (no cook):

* 1 cup of plain four.
* 1 cup of Horlicks
* 1/2 cup salt.
* 2 tablespoons of cream of tartar.
* 2 tablespoons of veggie oil.
* 1 1/2 cups of boiled water (mixed with about 4 teaspoons of granulated coffee, more for extra flavour or smell).

You could substitute the Horlicks for milk powder if you want but I've not tried yet so not sure about quantities..

Enjoy folks!
