Making Crayons

Struggling to get your boys writing? Sick of your writing provision being filled to the brim with graphite pencils and dull biros?  Then make your own crayons, so simple and quick!

1) Gather together the old tatty crayons that you no longer want or can use.

2) Peel off the label and cut into small pieces.

3) Add the crayons to your silicone moulds (make sure you get one that can withstand the oven - NOT ICE ones).  You can add the crayons in lines of colour (like above) or you can mix the colours and create 'tie-dye' colours. Make sure you overfill them as the wax will melt into the "air-pockets."

4) Melt in the oven for 12 minutes at 200C.

5)  When you bring them out the wax will be very runny, leave to set for a few hours.  Place in the freezer for an hour once they are fully cooled (this will really solidify the wax so you can get it out of the mould).

6) Enjoy!
